Overview dashboard

Your whole Copilot estate at a glance — reclaimable spend, adoption and the top opportunities to act on.

The Overview dashboard is where every scan lands. It distils your whole Copilot estate — licence spend, adoption and AI agents — into a handful of tiles you can read in seconds, then drill into. Like everything in Copilot Insights, it is built from read-only metadata: seat counts, usage signals and agent inventory, never the content of prompts, chats or files.

What the Overview shows

The dashboard refreshes with each scan and reflects that point-in-time snapshot. Four headline tiles sit across the top, with a usage-by-app breakdown and a preview of your top opportunities below.

How to read the tiles

Reclaimable spend is the headline number for most teams — it estimates what you are paying for seats that sit unassigned or dormant. Adoption puts that in context: a low adoption percentage usually means reclaimable spend is high. The Agents tile is your governance pulse — a rising flag count is a prompt to review Agent governance.

Usage by app

Below the tiles, adoption is broken down by Copilot surface — such as Teams, Outlook, Word and Excel — so you can see where Copilot has landed and where it has not. It is a quick way to spot apps worth a nudge in enablement or training rather than a licence reclaim.

Top opportunities

The opportunities panel previews your most valuable recommendations — for example, dormant seats worth reclaiming or an agent with no owner. Each item links through to the full, prioritised list so you can act on the detail behind it.

What you see on Free

On the Free plan the Overview shows a capped teaser — up to 10 users and 5 agents — so you can gauge the shape of your estate, while Reports and Recommendations stay locked. Upgrading widens the view and unlocks the detail; see Plans & billing for what each plan includes.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my Overview empty?

The dashboard populates after your first scan. If you have just connected your tenant, run a scan and the tiles will fill with your snapshot.

How often does the Overview update?

It reflects your most recent scan. Free allows one scan ever, Pro one per month and Enterprise unlimited — so the numbers move each time you run a fresh scan. See Plans & billing.

Does the Overview ever show prompt or file content?

No. Every tile is built from metadata only. Copilot Insights cannot read the content of prompts, chats or files — see Security & privacy.
